So my goal is to create go speed videos similar to this:
    (13) Lego Icons 10325 Alpine Lodge Winter Village Speed Build - YouTube
I love this style, as almost all other Lego YouTubers just show them building with their hands. However, this style is proving hard. I'm having issues with Dragonframe. I found and downloaded an app called "Canon Camera Connect." I attach my phone to my camera via USB and can use the app to take photos.

Will using this app affect the quality of the photos? I attached a couple of photos.

Also, in the photos, you can see that when I rotated the lego piece the back of the lego in the second photo is blurry. How can ik prevent that from happening? I would like the entire image to stay crisp and now end up blurry if I rotate certain parts of the lego set.

    Tnk hayou!

Screenshot 2023-11-13 204728 is in focus... but... once i rotate the piece it is no longer in focus as you can tell in
Screenshot 2023-11-13 204742 (the black gray piece is blurry). is that due to the lens?

Just like in your othe thread your issue is not directly with the lens itself, it is simple photographic science.
    Distance + f stop + lens length = DOF

Depth of field is the range of a scene in focus behind and in front of the focus point. The Short answer is you are WAY to close to the legos to ever get more than an inch or two of the scene in focus, especially with a telephoto lens. A wide lens, and / or stepping way back from the legos and showing more of the work table will make a huge difference.

I don't think you'll have enough light to shoot at say f16 but here I drew a blue line to represent the focus points grab of the subject, then the red and green represent the back and front limit of the focus at roughly 1/3 of an inch.

I think he may have a telephoto like you around 100mm because of the perspective, but in this case he is easily 2.5 times the distance from the legos, and he started overhead so the whole build is close to the same focal plan and he can get most of it in a small DOF

If it was perfectly over the top the legos would be on the same focal plane and parallel, allowing a small window of inches to work across the plate so he can build up a few rows before they go out of focus. Then he changes angles again and works on a wall running close to parallel with the focus plane.

You can see how quickly that floor goes out of focus..... he has roughly 4 in of DOF in that scene. My guess is he has between an 85 and 120mm lens he is backed up stepped down like i suggested and has very bright lighting. He also is doing heavy video editing to get only the pieces and not the fingers bringing in. He may have also heavily cropped a wide angle video down in post production, what i mean is what you see below may be only a 3rd of what the camera picked up and he cropped in substantially.

I think the videos may be shot as video and then edited down just to show the still frames of the video which he wants to show.
