I'm guessing this is the type of question that gets asked a lot, so apologies in advance. Many years ago (it was new at the time) I Bought a Canon EOS650D that has served me well over the decades, but the lack of connectivity has frustrated me more and more recently. I have bought many lenses over the years and my main photography is London scenery or running events for my athletics club - Must admit my action shots are probably only 70% successful over the years!. Its just a hobby for me, but i do enjoy it If pushed I can go up to £2k for a new camera, but do I go for a newer DSLR (90D?), spending half of that and utilise all my lenses, or go Mirrorless and future proof. If the latter what are the recommendations
personally I would shop around a bit the used market.... no need to spend 1500 on a new body or shift lens mounts right now if you have a bunch of lenses. How many? Are they all EF or do you have EF-s .... you can find a variety of options 6dmark 2 FF is under 1k, 500-600 for a 7d mark 2..... you get the idea.
I would agree with the comment above. Bodies come and go, but glass is forever. But for a specific answer - I have both mirrorless and standard shutter, and that isn't the most important difference between the two. For sports and nature, I'd get the best camera possible that really rocks out fast shutter speeds. jonkarr.com
You could invest in a newer DSLR like the Canon 90D, which would allow you to continue using your existing lenses.
If you choose mirrorless you could get an adapter thus allowing you to utilize all your EF and EFs lenses. I eventually followed GDN's advice and went mirrorless, R5 and R7.
