Hi. I've just bought a Rokinon S11 14mm f2.8 lens to go on my EOS 60D body. According to the advertising they are compatible. However with this lens on I can't see or adjust the aperture setting - it just comes up as '00' and doesn't change when I move the ring. I queried this with Rokinon, and they said that I needed to set the a C control to 'release without lens'. But this isn't an option on my camera! Any suggestions? Thanks!

You will 100% not see anything on camer, this is a completely manual lens, you have to dial it in on the lens.
There are not even contact for the camera to know the lens is there let alone what you set the aperture at or if the focus is achieved.

Many cameras have custom function for a fire shutter while no lens option for manual lenses, seems this has some weird sequence of letting it try to auto focus. This thread discusses the problems you would encounter: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3029328

Thanks. i had a look at the thread and the solution seemed to be incredibly (and unrealistically) complicated. However, i have realised that there is an aperture-setting moveable ring on the actual lens. This seems to work, when I examine the different settings in the depth of field window. But I'm not sure what if anything i can do about focussing. Given that I got the lens primarily for a northern lights holiday in MArch, hopefully focussing won't be much of an issue, But if you've any other hints happy to pick up. I'll have another look at the thread

    Thanks again
