Warming up in the sunshine

    Frosty overnight here and I suspect the deer spent it in the orchard.

    They were there this morning, trying to warm up in the sunshine.

    Lovely capture John. I love the icy grass tips dotted around.
    We have deer and there’s a very short moment where we both meet in stillness and acknowledge each other before they then rapidly bounce away. To get that ‘stillness moment’ captured is a gift, although that girl looks to be enjoying the sun too much to bother fleeing from you

    I had a look at it on your FLICKR and saw you used a 100-400mm lens on a Mirrorless R5 Mk II -- Posh !

    Posh? ... maybe, but I am now retired and it is one of my main hobbies - it is a long way from where I started as a teenager (I still have the camera shown below, but goodness knows where you would find plates for it, although film for the roll back might be more findable)

    i was given a Voigtlander 'AVUS' 9x12 cm camera by a Lecturer when i was a Photographer at University College London and I DID use it with PLATES and CUT FILM but I also got a RADA Rollfilm Back for it -- the Skopar 135mm f4.5 les is sharp !

    Nice to see another plate camera - even in those days (when Nelson was a cabin boy) the cost of plates made you think very carefully about each shot!
