Lovely capture John. I love the icy grass tips dotted around. We have deer and there’s a very short moment where we both meet in stillness and acknowledge each other before they then rapidly bounce away. To get that ‘stillness moment’ captured is a gift, although that girl looks to be enjoying the sun too much to bother fleeing from you
I had a look at it on your FLICKR and saw you used a 100-400mm lens on a Mirrorless R5 Mk II -- Posh !
Posh? ... maybe, but I am now retired and it is one of my main hobbies - it is a long way from where I started as a teenager (I still have the camera shown below, but goodness knows where you would find plates for it, although film for the roll back might be more findable) My old press plate camera by John Liddle, on Flickr
i was given a Voigtlander 'AVUS' 9x12 cm camera by a Lecturer when i was a Photographer at University College London and I DID use it with PLATES and CUT FILM but I also got a RADA Rollfilm Back for it -- the Skopar 135mm f4.5 les is sharp !
Nice to see another plate camera - even in those days (when Nelson was a cabin boy) the cost of plates made you think very carefully about each shot!
