I’ve been using my Canon 5D Mark IV for about 6–7 years regularly, and it has always performed beautifully. However, in the last month, I’ve noticed something strange—my images are showing odd shadows on skin tones that I’ve never seen before. I may have inadvertently changed my usual settings... I shoot mostly natural light, so I’m not sure what’s causing this.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I used my workhorse lens EF24-105mm f/4

    Thanks in advance.

There is a lot of light being thrown around in that image, you can see front lighting slightly on the clothing creating shadows on the legs and between the people, the strongest light is from the left and quite harsh, but there is some on the right and from above if you look on the shoulder and the elbow of the girl in the dress on the right side of the image. it even is showing down low on the balloons. there is lighting from multiple angles. that said if its above / behind mostly that would create so cast shadows. But they look like they may be something over head being cast down.

I think for people to weigh in with constructive feedback we would need to see similar issues in a variety locations but at first glance i don't think there is a sensor issue.
