    For me, that is the Canon EOS 50e and it is how I would like Canon EOS 6D Mark II to be:

    I also own a Canon EOS Elan II & EOS Elan IIe SLRs. The black and silver theme does look nice. From a functional standpoint, the large dial on the back was an excellent feature, although I didn't think the "focus modes" knob on the top near the LCD display was the best use of that kind of knob.

    I agree! That's actually my photograph of my camera you have picked up off the web - I'm pleased someone likes it.

    EOS 1N + PDBE1+Command Back E1; 1VS, L-series lenses (TSE-45, 90mm), 70-200 f2.8L, 20mm f2.8, 17-40 f4L.

    Pentax 67 + 4 lenses. Ilfochrome Classic master printer (1992-2010);
    RA-4 hybridised print ops.
    The EOS50E improved on the earlier EOS 5's hobbled eye-control focus by allowing calibration and active use in either portrait or landscape mode, additional to selecting which of the focusing points takes prime awareness. Other than that, the camera was very plasticy and suffered some of the same problems as the EOS 5 and its variants, namely broken lens release button, frail back cover latch and occasional seizing of the mode control dial. The camera can be difficult to source second-hand today so people are either hanging on to them or so very few of these models were sold by Canon, compared to, for instance, the pro-level EOS 1N, 1V, 3 etc. cameras.
