I currently have the T2i, I beleive its a 18MP. The only issue I have with it is its age. Its old. There's newer models out there. I'm looking to upgrade just not sure what I want to upgrade too.or even if I want to continue with the rebel series. I know that I will be buy a new 600mm lens priced at about 800-900$. Advice? Comments? All helps. Thanks.
Hello and welcome to the forum. My questions to you would be what does your current camera not offer you? Or where is it lacking? If something is old, it may not need that you need to upgrade. If you are looking to upgrade because you want a higher up the spec camera, that makes sense. If you want a few more megapixels, yeah ok. I understand that one as well. If you want faster autofocus, would be another reason. But if your camera is working ok, I would suggest that you spend your money on better lenses. May I ask, what lenses do you own, and which ones do you use the most? Gary
So if you are happy with the rebel line, what looking at the rebel SL3. https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/...lr/eos-rebel-sl3-ef-s-18-55mm-is-stm-lens-kit 24.1 megapixels. Have a look at the specs. Looks to be a decent camera for the price. Would it cover all of the features that you would require? Gary
I thinking like the t6i, t7i, or even the 77d, Just not sure which. Then again I could continue with the t2i, and just buy a different lens and get better.
I agree Ffisher that you can compare the features on the t6 t7 and 77d cameras as they would be on par with your rebel. Honestly your upgrade will be more noticeable with the newer sensor and ISO performance you will likely find. Megapixels is nice and all but its not such a huge jump to upgrade on that alone if they were both newer cameras. For example at 300dpi which is considered photo quality, you only get another few inches out of the extra pixels: 18 MP is 5196 x 3464 is 12 x 17 inches 24 MP is 6000 x 4000 is 13 x 20 inches Maybe this is a good time to jump up a rung on the ladder and grab something like a 80D, rather than another consumer grade body? Just something to think about.
Ive been looking at the 80D, whats the difference though? Can you please help me and figure out which body to go after lol
I found a review that compares them, but in summary the 80d gives you weather sealing and more customization as you would expect stepping up from their rebel which is the into line. The 80d actually has a 1 generation older sensor, this isn't a huge surprise to me because the higher models are upgraded less frequently. Give it a read: https://www.dpreview.com/articles/5...anon-eos-rebel-t7i-800d-vs-eos-77d-vs-eos-80d
Now that you’ve had your new camera a while how are you liking it? How does it compare to your old one? Are you happy with your decision?
