Speedlite Regions of Use and Restrictions

    Hi, I'm new to this forum and to non-cell phone photography, my items are less than one week old and I am trying to wrap my head around everything. I did a search through the forum and didn't find a similar question, apologies if this is already answered somewhere.

    I was reading the "Regions of Use and Restrictions for the Speedlite 430EX III-RT" and it lists a bunch of countries whose local radio wave regulations the Speedlite complies with as of Sep 2015. It then says not to use the product in areas it was not designed for. I'm based in the US and bought my equipment here, but I noticed that two countries I am fond of are not on the list, Indonesia and The Philippines. Does that mean that I'm not supposed to use the flash in those countries as it could interfere with local communications i.e. first responders, etc.?

    I had to take a glance at your manual myself since I don't own RT equipment. You can use the flash, you just can't use the Radio transmission mode from chapter 4, so unless you wanted to use two flashes in that mode as master/slave, you really have nothing to be concerned about. Plus you still can do master and slave using optical mode from chapter 5 if you did want to have that sort of a setup over there.

    Thank you johnsey for the research and the very informative response. I doubt I'll be doing anything that advanced in the near term, so I should be safe if I travel to SE Asia.
