I won a cassette of 'Cinestill 50 ASA film' and it was sent from New York, USA. I gave my A-1 an outing! I had not used the A-1 for a long time ( too many cameras and not enough time ! ) . I had cured the infamous 'Canon Squeak' but I got some strange readouts for 50 ASA at times so i took some checked with a Weston Master V as well . I set 50 ASA and got film processed by Bill at 'BOOTS', Brentwood HIgh Street-- he said he had never seen such a strange film but it WAS C41 OK. Negs seemed dense enough and a couple ever TOO dense. He had trouble with adjusting some prints which had a Green cast, I scanned negs with my old Epson 1650 flatbed + Vuescan Pro + FastStone Image Viewer. Negs scanned with a huge Cyan/ Green cast. I had to use 'Levels' in all channels to correct the colour cast., then 'Curves' to get better contrast as the film seemed low in contrast on a lot of the photos. I got better results on most than Bill did! I show a series taken on a trip I organised to a 'Secret Bluebell Wood' on one Non-Rainy day ! I had to use a Tripod for all photos and mostly the Canon FD 75-150mm f4.5 lens.
