Thanks, Craig. Yes, the cars were very well presented and there were plenty of them too. It was a lovely day with a clear blue sky which made for very contrasty light. A little bit of overcast cloud would have been nice but you work with what you get.
When I am out and about I always carry a polerised filter with me this will cut down some of the contrast and darken the sky and clouds a bit, this could help a bit next time
Yes, that's a good tip, Craig. I did have a polariser with me but not for that lens filter size. I was working with 3 cameras that day!
Ray there is a cheap way out of not having enough polariser filters purchase some step up and stepdown rings from China, they cost 12.30 for the set I brought with 9 up and 9 down adapters which allows you to fit one filter to multiple lens sizes
I have an assortment of step up rings, Craig. The 28-80 on the 1Ds has a 58mm filter ring and I have a CPL that size. I just didn't have it with me but it is now in the bag so it won't happen again.
Isn't that always the way? You carry something around all the time and the one time you don't bring it along, you need it. Happens to me all the time, except for the polariser I still think the cars come out pretty good and you could darken them down a bit in photoshop too.
