Its been a month since I purchased the EF 24 - 105 F4 IS USM (Version 2). Recently, i noticed a small sound coming from the lens when the Image stabilizer engages & disengages. I cannot remember if this sound existed before. The video shows the sound from the lens. (in the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11EI8poaTDYJgphsRNhX49vWMYsoyM59Y/view?usp=sharing) Its stressing me out considering this is a new lens. Is this normal..? or is there an issue with me lens.? My camera is a 2000D.
Hard to tell if the sound is normal, the motor kicking in and out could make a subtle sounds, the recording may be making it sound more obvious than it really is. Also the 24-105 i don't have but I do have the 70-200 IS gen 2 and you could here the motor on it.
At 2:50 in this vid Chris compares the two lenses with noise from the two IS motors, the II seems quiter but the noise you have in your video is the focus motor which in both do sound the same,
