Hello everyone, I have a Canon RP and would like to pair it with the Canon 24-70mm L version 1 lens. I bought this lens from a pawn shop ($150) and had it sent in for repair (repair ~$400). Coming back within the next couple days or so. I bought it after researching the version 2 and felt it would be worth the purchase despite the age/version. Figured it would be good to use on either my Canon RP or M50. I am shooting video and photo. Would these two pair nicely together? Are there important considerations/advice you might have since the lens is 20+ years old? I have a 24-240mm RF lens, would it be better to sell the Version 1 and find more RF glass?... Thank you in advance, Kelechi
Hello, Kelchi, welcome to the forum, I can not help with you inquirey but make a decision yourself by trying the lens out in varying conditions and for a 20 year old glass . I regularly us lenses dating back to the sixties and get excellent results.in your case it would come down to the quality of the lens and how it works on your camera.
I would agree with what Craig has said. You own the lens, so go out and have a play around with it for a while. If you are happy with the lens, you are the only person who can really judge that. Let us know how you get on. Gary
