Hi everyone! I found Canon 6D (1 generation) that have been laying on the slelf for some years and now the time of it has came BUT, when I opened it, put my SD card and tried to take a shot, the small lamp, that tells whether the card is busy, lights up and when I open the SD card slot, camera says to close it, because it writes a photo. That happens ALWAYS and even on the poorest quality of photo. I tried the card that works well with Canon 600D but the situation is still the same. As well, when you take a photo without the card, the main screen turns black and the screen on the top says BUSY when you intend to take another shot. Also, I`ve installed Magic Lantern, so that can tell us, that it reads the card well. And if I insert formatted card, it creates directories CANON100 and CANON101 (or so). Any help is needed, don`t want such a good camera to become a piece of trash ^_^ Thanks everyone in advance!
Is it just the one card that you have tried? If not, I would be looking at trying another sd card before giving up. Gary
I would suggest you remove magic lantern, reset the camera to factory defaults in the menu and format the card (or a new one) in the camera. Do not use a card that has been formatted with another camera or with a PC, also do not use a micro SD card in an adaptor.
So, tried SanDisk extreme pro 64 gb and that didn`t help. Now it is in the local service center. As i see it, that is luckily a motherboard crack or smth like that...
