Hi. This morning went to beach to do some photography. I was on my knees and took some images. On getting up I fell I don't think the camera hit the ground but not 100% sure. I checked the camera seemed OK went home connected to laptop and camera would not talk to laptop. Checked leads ok. Found card holder door unlocked made secure still not connecting to laptop.
    Camera Canon 700d.
Any ideas please I need help. James

Well the card door would have done it.

If the card or battery door are nt shut you should find that the camera does not power up fully even for shooting photos. The doors for those press a bin inside when they close that completes the circuit.

    1. So my question is does the camera power up and still shoot photos?
    2. It should be able to be connected via usb to the laptop at that point. You may not have a properly functioning USB cord or port so I would try multiple ports to see is the port is bad if #1 is working as normal.
    3. If you find everything works fine but the camera using the USB is not recognized by the canon app on the computer, I would resort to popping the SD card out and using a card reader. Its much quicker for transfer anyway, it just will eventually wear the brasing on the card contacts over time.
