Good evening, I have an EF-S 18-135mm IS Nano USM lens, lovely lens but the zoom ring is not smooth. From about 50mm through to 135mm is very "jerky" when zooming in and out. I have a couple of STM lenses which are a smooth as silk! Any suggestions? Is there anything I can do?

    Many thanks
    Simon

Short of taking the lens apart and maybe cleaning and lubricating the zoom mechanism with some specialised grease, there's probably nothing you can do. If it's causing you a problem it may be worth contacting Canon and getting it serviced/repaired by them if it's still under warranty or looking more locally for a recommended local Canon support agent who may be able to do the work for you.

Thanks Gregory. On checking the paperwork I find the lens is still within warranty so is going back to the supplier on Monday.
