    Hello and thanks for helping!
It seems like no matter what I do, I can't change the shutter speed from 1/60 in movie mode. It also won't change in Manual mode.
I thought it may have been because I had a manual lens on the camera so I put my Sigma 70-200 on there and it's still stuck at 60.
I appreciate that you're going to ask me questions so we can get this cleared up. I will do my best to answer your questions (and try your suggestions) as quickly as possible. Happy to send pics if you think that will help.
I also had a video capture gizmo from the HDMI port to run the video to my android phone using the Accsoon software which was working pretty well. I disconnected that to try to solve the shutter speed issue to no avail.
    Thanks again!

which dial are you using to change the shutter in manual mode?

    Thanks for your question!
I got this off of Google to make sure I was using the correct dial - "when operating in manual exposure control, main dial is used to adjust the shutter speed..."
So, the main dial on the top right.
I also watched a couple of YT vids to make sure I was doing it right.
I think I may have had this problem a few years ago but I put the camera up and don't remember the solution.
    Thanks again!

Welcome to the forum, Chaz. I had a 50D with the same problem, to get around it I was able to change shutter speeds with use of the Q button, this may or may not work for you, after about a year my 50D stopped working completely.

On my Canon 7D there is a lock/unlock switch as part & just below the dial. Did you try that switch?
