Hi, I have an EOS R, and recently some of the videos are having this weird block banding issue. Does anyone know why this happens? I have been using a Crop sensor lens, and I thought maybe it is the crop sensor lens, but this video was shot on a full-frame 50mm 1.8 lens and this happened again. Any info on this would be great, thanks! Annotation 2020-08-24 130555.jpg

This band is spanning across the whole image, my guess is there is a sensor issue here? Maybe due to getting too hot I am not sure.
Just to verify did you make sure you were on updated firmware for the camera? Otherwise I think you need to call Canon, they should be able to service it under warranty.
