Hello, I’m looking for some feedback on a battery replacement for a camera that been kept in the family for some 20 odd years. The original batteries are no good, and I do seem to find some 3rd party replacements online. My question is should I be worried if current generation batteries may have a negative effect on the camera electronics. If I get a battery with the identical voltage I should be okay correct? You want to search for replacement battery canon BP-818. Yes it should be 6v and also match the contacts, other brands will say the model they are making a fit for (in this case battery BP-818 as it says on the back of your battery).
