    Caused by hexagonal ice crystals.

    I am not sure if I like it or not to be honest with you. I have seen this before in the sky. It does look good to look at when it happens. Is Tasmania cold enough to get these halos?

    If you are near the coast , not so much but if you are in the midlands or high up such as Mt. Wellington which overlooks Hobart, it can occur
