im Tom. Im very old. 76 years young.
My first camera was a mamiya c330.
A few years back I saved and bought a lovely 5d 2 and it rekindled my love of photography. It also helped me get to grips with computers to a point.
    Just wanted to say hello

    Thank you sir!
I had a paralux error line on the old TLR. It was a huge help. Lovely glass.
I loved film. Loved the darkroom and the anticipation. But digital is so much fun and I thoroughly enjoy it and how instant you see results.

I started out with a 1000f and it would take me months to Finnish a roll of film and it would take one hour to get it developed. time went by and I saved up for a 10d. I then saved up for a used 60D. I then purchased a C3 and have just started building my darkroom so I am basically heading backward. I like the tactile feel of film as it is not so impersonal like digital but I still use digital a lot.

I agree, I teach a small photography class, the average age is 75 and the oldest student is 92.
I believe that stimulating the brain helps with mental health and getting out and about photographing things leads to good physical health. Photography is a win, win situation.

    That’s perfectly worded.
Inside I still feel in my thirties. Sadly, outside I resemble an elderly elephants knee cap that a blindfolded individual has painted the eyes on.
The body ages, the mind remembers a wee bit less but inside I’m fresh as a daisy.
What you do is wonderful. I expect the guys love the classes

I started my class 6 years ago and 2 of them have been there since day one .
I have several ladies in the class as well.
One of my ladies is blind in one eye and partial vision in the other, I get around this by tethering my laptop to one of my cameras so she can see what is in the view finder of the camera is also shown on my much larger laptop screen.
Not only does she enjoy her photography but she get to go out and socialize .
