When attempting to use autofocus on my lens (EF 50mm f1. 8 STM) with the flash popped up, the flash repeatedly fires at full brightness in a burst of 4-6 in the space of under a second.
If I am still half pressing the shutter button then there will be about a second pause before it does this rapid burst again.
What could be causing this issue and how could I go about fixing it, even when flash is disabled in settings this still happens. This has also only started occurring today and have never had this kind of problem before. I am worried this could burn out the flash capacitors and just pose a general risk as well as it being very annoying to deal with.
    [Info] Camera is a 1300D/Rebel T6
The camera has not been exposed to harsh weather very recently.
