    Greetings,

I have a Canon EOS 80D with a Canon EF-S 55~250mm, IS, STM Lens. When in Manual Mode, my settings are: Shutter Speed 1/60s, F/8 and ISO @ 100. When I need to go to Aperture Priority, the lens
setting changes automatically to F/5.6. When I choose change lens setting, I cannot. I turned the lens
setting command dial, and nothing happens. I have checked the Menu features and was unable to locate
    something that would assist me.

Thanks very much for any helpful hints and suggestions.
    Tony

    Hi Tony
I have the same body and lens. If you don't get any clear cut answers in the next couple of hours I can see if I get the same results. Unfortunately I have just started my shift at work, so you will get a fair few hours to get a proper answer from someone with a little more in depth camera knowledge! :)

Right, I have started to have doubts that I have understood your question correctly, and if this will be of any help to you or not now!?

I found a static spot where I could get the lens to focus happily on your setting of 1/60, f8 and ISO 100 in Manual.
When I switched to Av, my lens self adjusted to 1/200, f5.6 and ISO 100 and would focus/take a pic.
But I could change back to f8 with either the wheel, or in the Q menu. (The camera actually settled on 1/100, f8 and ISO 100 when I took a pic.) Unfortunately I don't know if this is a camera or lens issue though.
Is it just an issue with that specific lens, or does it do it with any others?

    Hello Paul F,

I tried the Canon EF-S 18~55mm, IS, STM lens and yes the same issue occurred. (Oh my, what a sharp lens). I did as you suggested and was able to change F/stops by using the Q button. The same occurred with the 55~250mm lens. Many thanks.
    Tony
