So I am going to Reno with some friends in a couple of weeks and was wondering if it would be bad to take my camera up with me when we go to the snow. I really want to get some shots on the gondola and at the top of the mountain before skiing back down but I have read that colder temperatures can be bad for your camera. Anyone have any experience with this or tips to keep my camera safe?

I would say take your camera, your camera should be alright if you use a little common sense such as don't leave it out in the weather, keep the moisture out of the camera by putting it in a plastic bag or back in to your camera bag when not in use. Remember one of the reasons for buying a camera is to record those moments in time which we will never get back again.
