I got an M50 about at year ago, it is replacing a Pentax K5.
Few things that annoy me about the M50:

    Touch screen.
    Lag when using viewfinder.
Lens[cheap kit lens] having a button I have to press and extend the lens when I turn the camera on.

But the M50 video is drastically better than I ever managed with the Pentax, which is why I got rid of the Pentax. I like the relative compactness of the canon.

    Welcome to the forums integerspin!

I cant say i have used the M cameras, but I can confirm that the M line and lenses were canons first step into mirrorless and in general are more of an entry level line. In fact they have already retired the M line and replaced it with the R line of cameras which is why you now see R series APC cameras not just full frame.

welcome, i been using the M50 for 4 years now, mostly wildlife with ef lenses but also everything from 2mm macro to 1200mm planets
its a very capable little camera, at times i need my kit to be as small as possible so the efm lenses are great
the 32mm canon and sigma 56mm efm lenses rivaling some of the much higher end ef ef-s lenses
below is a list of lenses i currently use with my M50, also have the canon ef 85mm ƒ1.8 but not added it to the list yet

i mostly shoot through the evf with the screen folded closed / not in use, only using it on occasion, more for weird angles
