Hello everyone. I’m relatively new to photography. My last camera was a Nikon 750 . I wanted to upgrade a little bit. I noted that to my wife so for my Christmas gift she bought me the new EOS 1dx mark 3 and 2 great lenses. As most of you have already realized I’m in over my head. I shoot mostly photographs of our sons sports and travel photography. Looking forward to being a member And especially looking forward to access to all the great minds in this forum. Cheers George
Welcome to the forum George, there are plenty of us that can help with any sort of questions you have about your gear.
Welcome George, a 1DX mark 3, your lucky person. May I suggest you start off in shutter priority and aperture priority. With shutter priority you control the shutter speed and the camera does the rest. Aperture priority is one of the things that control depth of field. the others are lens length and distance to subject. This basically means how far you see into the image that is in sharp focus, F2.0 is very shallow. This allows a lot of light onto the sensor, and a small area in focus. Eg. a portrait or flower shot, where the back-ground is out of focus. F8 is middle of the range and F16 is deep depth of field, not as much light is on the sensor and good for landscapes where every thing is sharp in detail especially the back-ground. Any questions, we have a willing community and photographers here at the forum, just ask .
