Hi all, I did start when I was about 18 yrs of age with a Yashica FX3 birthday present from dad. So now, 49 years later, I'm going to have another go. Found some great value used camera gear on Ebay . EOS 4000D including kit 18-55 lens, original battery charger, Sigma 70-300 tele, Canon 430EX flash, all in a cheapo camera bag, but included was a Prima Photo 1.45mtr tripod in it's original carry bag. The EOS was described as having 'marks' two of the screen edges, which turned out to be mould. But I guess if I keep it dry, it should be ok. Paid £225 all in, so I'm not complaining. Plus I can see little screws around the casing, so maybe I'll have a go at cleaning it up once our UK baked summer ends. And I have a food de-hydrator for 3D printing filament, so I might use that at 40deg for a few hours to dry out the parts. I'll be of out for a walkabout on the Dawlish coast to see what I can snap later today. Wish me luck!
Welcome to the forum, Cheapo. As you have realized, you don't need expensive gear to enjoy photography.
Thanx Craig, I have purchased one or two cameras over the years, but really only for snaps. Then I got an iPhone 11pro and have used it for similar fun. Hmm, I wonder if I'll find any green grass?
