After some discussion in another thread I decided to test out a very old preset M42 lens that I have. It is a Sankyo Kohki Komura f2.5 105mm. An unusual name and an unusual maximum aperture. I tested if first on my Pentax K10D: _IGP1224 by Ray Allen, on Flickr Then I put it on the Canon 1Ds with my M42 adapter: C0EW1637_ACDC (3) by rayallen posted Jun 17, 2018 at 1:51 PM Then I decided to try it on the 20D with the M42 adapter. This provided me with a very pleasant surprise. My previous attempts using the M42 adapter on the 20D were disappointing because when the adapter was mounted the shutter refused to fire but this time everything worked well and images were able to be made. Needless to say I am now very happy. I even get focus confirmation Here is an image: IMG_0447 (4) by rayallen posted Jun 17, 2018 at 1:50 PM
Thanks a lot, pp. It was good to use that old lens again. But the best part of the day was to find out that the M42 adapter worked on the 20D. I have no idea why it would not work previously but the main thing is that it works now - only in Manual but that's OK. Same as on the 1Ds.
