Out of bedroom window through the glass pane. This is a tiny bird about 2 inches long I guess. This is a male. It was persistently knocking on the glass pane thinking there is a clear path to come inside the room. They mainly feed on nectar and insects. They can hover for short durations. Female. Less colorful and smaller, about an inch and a half in length.
What a neat little bird! And I suspect the knocking on the glass was him making sure his reflection wasn't another male!
Thanks. I never saw all the colors of this tiny bird till I took these shots. You hardly ever spot them outdoors since they are so small. Yes, reflection is another possibility.
