One of my friends developed a fan that cools down RC car motors and needed some "professional" pictures of it. I just set up a cloth and had 2 flashes pointed at it. I think it turned out decent. Any tips on how to fully get rid of the shadows?
One way to get rid of the shadow, shoot a second frame over exposed so shadow is white. Blend two frames in PS using layers. You could do this with the single frame you have. Increase exposure, highlights, and whites in post until shadow is removed and save as a separate image. Import original and exposure adjusted images into Photoshop, then layer mask and blend the images to your liking.
I have good experience with a ND filter and long exposures with low lighting, especially with as many dim light sources as possible. If the main source is behind the camera, that is even better!
