I have an EOS R6 and I am wanting to get a good telephoto lens for sports photography, mainly high school sports. Most will be either football at night, or indoors with artificial light. The F 2.8 on the 700-200 i know will help me with low light but the reach of the 100-500 would be nice. Any recommendations? They are both the same price at the moment and I can grab a 70-200 now but will have to wait until the other is in stock. That's not too big of a deal if it is the better option. Any input is appreciated, thanks, Tim

I don't know how far away from you your subjects will be from you. But I am wondering if 200mm will cut it. You can't zoom past 200mm if you need to get closer. Yes f2.8 would be good for low light. But with the 100-500, it may give you the reach. Ok, it is a slower lens. But you can push up the ISO to compensate.
