The church was abandoned in 1960 after the creation of a huge catchment area for a reservoir. Water level at the peak of wet season almost reaches the top of bell towers. What is amazing is that the outer brick skeleton is still standing after repeated deluge over past six decades. The building with beautiful Gothic architecture was built by French missionaries in 1860.
