Hi All, While out shooting this morning I experienced a strange effect that I have never had happen to me before. If you look at the attached images, Image 1 is pretty normal, Image 2 (I have added some pointers to the issue on Image2A). Has anyone had experience with this? Is this a camera or a lens issue? Is this something to be concerned with? Thanks in advance. Victor
That's the shadow of the antlers in the breath from the stag. It's caused by the position of the light behind the subject. It's a similar effect to that which you get when you shine a laser through smoke except it's the inverted effect due to the breath (smoke) being illuminated everywhere except where the antlers block the light.
Oh, wow! That's crazy ... I never thought of that but it makes 100% sense! So almost like an optical illusion. Cool. Thanks
