Spectacular shots. I'd be interested to know camera/lens combo used.

First, thanks for viewing rayallen, I appreciate it very much. The equipment I used for both these shots was a Canon 70D and Canon 200mm f2.8L lens with a Canon 1.4 TC, that gave me a 280mm focal length lens. Exposure was 1/4000 at 6.3 with 500 ISO. I would like to add that this combination produces some sharp, sharp images at moderate ranges. This lens and TC combination is very light also adding advantages in swinging and aiming at fast moving objects. Thanks again.

Thanks for the extra details. But your focal length is greater than 280mm. The 70D has an APS-C size sensor with a crop factor of 1.6 so your effective focal length is 448 mm (280 X 1.6) and that makes quite a difference when taking shots like that. Your shutter speed was nice and high so that helped with getting nice sharpness. You should be well pleased with those images.
