From that cod, the Lady decided to make a stew, as it had chickpeas, spinach, cod and egg, it looks like what we call here at Easter, Vigil stew. Here I send you the photograph. Potaje de vigiliah.jpg

Another fish that a few years ago was cheap and sometimes was not "softened" enough and was difficult to eat is the Octopus. Today, thanks to freezing and the fact that it is prepared better and better, it has become a fish as expensive as others. The accompanying photograph is an octopus bought already boiled and vacuum packe pulpo cocidoh.jpg

This looks so appetizing José. I just had to look up the recipe on the Fascinating Spain website - guess what my next fish dish is going to be. :) I'm not sure I can get salted cod though.

I prepare it easily if it is already cooked in the supermarket, sometimes it is even split and everything. There are two variants of what they call in Galician, "Octopus a fair" which is made at town festivals that are cooked with large copper pots and sold already cut. And what we call Galician octopus, which is made with boiled potatoes with their skin on, which are then peeled. They are chopped and sprinkled on top with olive oil and salt and then paprika or paprika, either sweet, spicy or mixed, according to taste. Although it is called Galician, it seems that the ones who did it that way were the maragatos, they were people who do not know where they came from and they settled in various towns in Castilla on the border with Galicia, and they were dedicated to transport, especially fish into the interior of Castilla, even reaching Madrid.
And they were the ones who seasoned it with paprika in transport, which did not exist until it came from America.

José, it is good to here about the history of your country from some-one who live there as it makes it more realistic.

Nice out of the box thinking, Caladina. Image is nice and sharp, out of focus branches do not distract, over all sweet image.

thanks, i was at 1/500 and 800 sausages shooting into the sun for a quick capture then it was gone, normally i would tint the blown out sky with some 20% opacity sky blue but in this case it would show up the noise so i left it as shot

with the main element being darker and the sky being the way it was, made the bird stand out nicely, a lovely bannana bread shot, Caladina.
